Upcoming Dates
For upcoming workshop dates visit our What's On page.

Location
The Stained Glass Museum workshop area, South Transept Triforium, Ely Cathedral, Ely, Cambridgeshire CB7 4DL

Directions
The Stained Glass Museum is located in Ely Cathedral. It is accessed by a stone spiral staircase (40 stairs). If the Museum isn’t open when you arrive, please wait at the entrance door where someone will come and greet you and let you in. If this is your first visit to the Museum, our entrance is found through the main (west) door of the Cathedral and then turn right past the font.

About the workshop

During this 2.5 hour workshop, the tutor will teach you the basics of glass fusing and how to cut your own glass shapes. You will then use this knowledge to create your own unique glass pieces, such as a pair of coasters, a set of bunting, or a suncatcher.

This is a hands-on workshop, with no previous experience necessary

Please note that your glass will need to be kiln fired after the workshop is finished. This process takes 24 hours and will usually be on the following working day because someone needs to be on the premises during firing. Once your fused artwork has been kiln fired and cooled, we will contact you to let you know it is ready for collection.

What to bring: The Cathedral can be cold so please wear warm clothing. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Cost: £60 per person including materials, equipment, tuition and kiln firing

Friends of the Museum receive 10% discount. Please contact us directly to book as a Friend

Suitable for age 18+

How to book: Please contact us for further details or to book a place on this workshop here
